The Mendocino College Writing Center is located on the Ukiah campus in the Southeast corner of the library. Writing labs are also held at our satellite locations during the hours below.  The Writing Center is where all of our Writing Labs (English 560) are held. For more information about the labs and the English program in general visit the department page. Students can also access the online writing lab. To use the lab, register for English 560 through MyMendo or the online form for fall 2026.

The English department wants to encourage students from any discipline, who have essays, or rigorous writing assignments, to enroll in one of the lab classes.  The labs are intended to provide support for all students, not just English students.

Coast Center - Fort Bragg: Monday 3:30-5:15p.m. and Wednesday 4:45-6:15pm (9/2-12/11). Location:  Learning Commons/Library

Lake Center - Lakeport: Tuesday 10:00-1:50pm; Thursday 1:00-1:50pm Location: Room 7110

Covelo/Round Valley:  This lab is open Mondays 4-5:00pm in Classroom A

Instructors in the labs teach students in a one-on-one setting. We offer support for writers at all levels and focus on the value of writing as a process.
