2023-2024 PRIORITY REGISTRATION ASSIGNMENTS

Students with priority registration have the opportunity to register for classes prior to all other students.

Per current legislation, priority registration is available to continuing students in good academic standing with fewer than 100-degree applicable units completed at Mendocino College, new students who have completed the matriculation process*, and returning students that have completed the matriculation process*, are in good standing, and have completed fewer than 100.0 degree applicable units at Mendocino College.

Effective Spring 2024, priority registration assignments will be based upon the total number of units a student has completed.  In prior terms, priority registration assignments were based upon the last 4 digits of a student's Social Security Number.

The following students are ineligible for priority registration: Students in academic and/or progress probation for two consecutive semesters or more; Students that have completed 100.0-degree applicable Mendocino College units; Dual Enrollment students (students concurrently enrolled in grades 9-12).

*Matriculation includes completion of all of the following: application for admission, new student orientation, placement, education plan developed with an academic counselor

**Definitions of First Day Priority Populations:

CalWORKs - Matriculated students in good standing that are receiving services through CalWORKs.

DRC - Matriculated students in good standing that are receiving services through the Disabled Students Program and Services (DSPS).

EOPS - Matriculated students in good standing that are receiving services through Extended Opportunity Program and Services (EOPS).

Foster Youth - Matriculated students in good standing that are verified current or former foster youth and are under 25 years of age as of the first day of the term.

Homeless youth - Matriculated students in good standing that are verified current or former homeless youth and are under 25 years of age as of the first day of the term.

Military Veterans - Matriculated students in good standing that are current members, or Veterans, of the Armed Forces or State Military Reserve.

Tribal TANF - Matriculated students in good standing that are receiving Tribal Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF).

Parents of a Minor Child - Matriculated students in good standing that are the parent of a child under 18 years of age receiving more than half of their support from the student.
