    The Mendocino College Art Gallery is excited to announce its new exhibit, “Fresh Ink: Contemporary Printmaking” opening on Thursday, September 15 with a reception from 4 – 6 pm. This exhibit features the work of Jonathan Palmer and Harry Frank, two printmakers who use this versatile medium in very different ways.

    July 21, 2016

    The California Community Colleges Board of Governors approved the proposed transfer of territory from Redwoods Community College District to the Mendocino-Lake Community College District (MLCCD) at their meeting on Monday, July 18th.  As a result of this action, the coastal communities of Fort Bragg and the town of Mendocino along with the surrounding areas will be incorporated into the Mendocino-Lake Community College District on July 1, 2017.

    The Mendocino College Men’s Soccer team is off to a strong start, after just two years of offering the program the team can say they’ve sustained their winning record.  Thirteen sophomores played their final season for the Mendocino Eagles in the Fall of 2015, after being part of the inaugural Men’s Team, and now four of them can say they are moving on and continuing to pursue their dream.

    On the evening of May 10th in the Mendocino College Center Theatre, the Human Services (HUS) Programs held their First Annual Student Awards Ceremony. Guests, faculty, and honorees were welcomed with an array of food and coffee, very generously donated by local businesses. William Feather began the celebration with a heartfelt welcome and offered appreciation for the families and the many supporters of HUS students and faculty.

    Dan Jenkins, a tenured professor at Mendocino College, recently accepted the H. Sanford Gum Service Award for his tremendous efforts in the field of Cooperative Work Experience Education (CWEE).  Completing his twenty-first year of instructing at Mendocino College, this prestigious award came as no surprise to the College Administration or Jenkin’s colleagues.

    The Mendocino College Eagles finished the 2015 season with an overall 11-19 record.  The Eagles started the season slowly with losses to traditional powers Santa Rosa and 2014 playoff team Butte College.  However, they then began to soar as they entered the Bay Valley Conference with wins over Yuba College, Contra Costa College, Los Medanos and Napa College (playing to the wire on multiple occasions).  Mendocino was lead by a group of talented sophomores: Haley Higgins, Raquel Contreras, Kyndal Smallcomb of Ukiah, Amber Mcqueen of Upper Lake and pitcher Amanda Kamita from Stockton Californi

    For the past fifteen years, the Mendocino College Dance Department has acknowledged National Dance Week with its own celebration of dance, the Spring Dance Festival, and this year is no exception! Ballet, contemporary, jazz, Middle Eastern, hip hop, and tap dance are just a handful of dance forms that will delight those who attend this event on Friday and Saturday, April 29 & 30 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, May 1 at 2:00 PM in the Mendocino College Center Theatre in Ukiah. “This event is one of Mendocino College’s most popular yearly events.
