The Hispanic/Latino event planning committee cordially invites you to save the date for the 14th Annual Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) event. This vibrant celebration is open to the whole community free of charge. 

Day of the Dead celebrations date back thousands of years, when Indigenous people from central Mexico would honor their deceased by placing food and water offerings on their resting places. In modern Day of the Dead celebrations, family members continue to practice these traditions by building altars (altares) where they place pictures of their beloved family members along with food and other items their family members enjoyed during their lifetime.

This orientation will provide you with knowledge, skills, and the mindset to excel in your program. Students who attend both days are qualified to receive participation stipends. Please join us on Thursday, May 7th, from 5-7 PM for our annual Registration Fiesta at the Lake Center. This free, family-friendly English/Spanish bilingual event provides opportunities for students to enroll for Summer & Fall classes at Mendocino College as well as explore other opportunities at the college. We will be providing a free dinner (we will be serving tacos made on the spot!), as well as information from Mendocino College Student Services & Academic departments, with fun games for all.
