Drone Technology Skills for Professionals and Industry

This workshop is open to all members of the community, though it is geared (and priced) toward professionals in construction, agriculture, forestry, public safety, natural resources, and digital media.

Class Description: Held over 4 weekends, this 40-hour workshop teaches drone technology/software, FAA regulations, and hands-on drone pilot skills for professionals in agriculture, construction, forestry, public safety, and other industries. Students will learn how to safely pilot professional drones, acquire high quality images and videos, and use them to create 2D maps, 3D models, 360 panoramas, and other deliverables. In addition, the class will cover the business and legal issues for incorporating drones into your company’s operations.


Greenwood Chairmaking with Dan Stalzer

  • Date: July 24 - 29, 2023 (Mon-Fri 8:30-5:30)
  • Location: The Krenov School, 440 Alger Street, Fort Bragg, CA
  • Instructor: Dan Stalzer has studied greenwood chairmaking under both Jenny Alexander and Drew Langsner, and has taught over 80 classes in Mendocino, Sonoma, and Marin.

Class Description: In this class, you will split fresh green logs and shape your chair parts with a drawknife while sitting on a shaving horse. You will learn the process of hand tool joinery while making a classic Appalachian chair for yourself in six days. Seat weaving will be demonstrated on the final day.

About this Event

The annual Mendocino College Teachers on Teaching conference is designed to explore a variety of topics of interest to teachers across disciplines from Kindergarten through Community College. The goal of the conference is to bring educators together to share ideas, build collaboration, and learn about current practices and projects in the community. The conference is geared to current and future educators.
