GENERAL DESCRIPTION:|
Under general direction, manages the District’s (the District includes sites in Willits, Lakeport, Fort Bragg and the main campus in Ukiah) maintenance, custodial, groundskeeping, facility use, central receiving/warehouse, parking, transportation, safety and security programs.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Plans, develops, organizes, and directs the District’s maintenance, custodial, groundskeeping, facility use, central receiving/warehouse, parking, transportation, safety and security programs.
Responds to emergency maintenance, facility, and grounds calls or contacts staff members to respond.
Serves as Safety Officer; chairs the Safety Committee; develops and implements a District environmental health and safety program including personal inspections of facilities/equipment/structures, handling of hazardous materials, emergency preparedness, and related training; prepares the annual Clery report; serves as representative to the North Coast College and University Mutual Aid Group.
Chairs the Facilities Committee to facilitate overall District planning for modification and use of current facilities; prepares the annual five-year capital improvement plan (FUSION); coordinates updates to the Facilities Master Plan.
Reviews legislation, code, policies, and procedures related to areas of responsibility; apprises others of pending or needed changes to current practice; recommends the development of or revision to related policies and practices; designs departmental forms.
Supervises the purchase, storage, and distribution of supplies and equipment related to areas of responsibility. Including bid requirements, coordinating outside contractors and vendors.
Develops and implements standards for all campus facilities and grounds to ensure they are maintained in a clean, safe and attractive manner; periodically conducts inspections to ensure they are maintained in conformance with District standards and applicable codes.
Oversees the work order system, preparing cost estimates on required maintenance work; the scheduling of campus activities and facilities; and the building keying system for campus buildings and facilities.
Develops and manages the five-year scheduled maintenance plan.
Develops and implements preventative maintenance programs to properly maintain buildings, grounds, plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, including energy management and solar technology.
Supervises a District vehicle use and maintenance program; ensures vehicle safety in accordance with State regulations.
Oversees the scheduling of campus activities and facilities.
Coordinates district-wide moves of furniture and/or office locations.
Oversees the building keying system of all campus buildings and facilities.
Directs set-ups, teardowns, and clean-up of campus events, activities, and athletic functions; coordinates staff scheduling.
Provides staff supervision including selection, training, coordination of tasks, developing work schedules, assignment of priorities, resolving problems, and conducting performance evaluations.
Develops goals and objectives, staffing recommendations, and capital outlay needs for Maintenance and Operations; articulates plans to others to provide direction.
Develops and manages the annual departmental budgets.
Researches, collects, assembles, analyzes, and maintains information/data; prepares or supervises the preparation of a variety of District, State, and Federal reports; presents reports.
Represents the District at assigned local, regional, and State meetings; serves on committees.
Performs other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
This is a classified management position.
Must possess a valid California driver’s license.
Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
At least 3 years of progressively responsible management experience.

ASSIGNMENT/SALARY BENEFITS
This classified administrator will be employed by an annual contract with an option for two-year renewals. The salary range is $99,810 to $115,542 with a maximum initial placement at Step 2. There is a $2,600 stipend for an earned doctorate. Twelve days of sick leave and twenty days of vacation are earned annually. There are eighteen paid holidays.
