Ceramics

 

In this course of study students will gain an important understanding of the equipment needed to produce ceramics, as well as how to use and repair it. The studio ceramics and sculpture classes use a lab-and-lecture concept that focuses on demonstrations and one-on-one assistance to develop the student’s creativity and ability to produce a broad range of ceramic objects. In the capstone class, Art Seminar, students are led through a spectrum of professional practices that will assist them in presenting and promoting their artwork in today’s changing marketplace.

Ceramics - Master Technician Certificate of Achievement

Studio ceramics is an exciting field of personal expression with many career possibilities ranging from fine artwork and sculpture to production tableware. This comprehensive study course and certification program combines the pragmatic nuts and bolts investigation of studio ceramic technology and personal artistic development, along with important aspects of promoting and presenting finished works in the art, craft and industrial marketplace. In this course of study students will gain an important understanding of the equipment needed to produce ceramics, as well as how to use and repair it.
