My first experience in an international school setting was at Emerson College, in England, in the late 70s.  There were 200 students from 28 different countries.  There I learned about Waldorf education, a holistic approach to pedagogy that values the arts.  Then in 1980, in London, I found myself teaching a room full of international students as part of the training for my TESOL certificate.  On that day, I fell in love with building bridges of communication, bringing up smiles of understanding and joy among the students, despite the challenges of learning to express themselves in a new way.  To this day, music, dance, and the arts from all over the planet are other forms of conveying meaning and expression that I love to share; I have been a radio programmer since 1989.
