Nicky Ellet-Petersen is a first-generation college student who was born in a tiny town in the Midwest. Her life has had many twists and turns, and she’s finally found her dream job in her dream place, teaching English in northern California. Nicky has a long-term partner, three amazing kids (actually, young adults), and a rescue dog named Saige. Her education includes a B.A. in English from Grand Valley State University, an M.A. in English Literature from Northern Michigan University, and an Ed.D. in Community College Leadership from Ferris State University (all in Michigan). She’s taught in a couple of universities and a high school, but most of her 20+ years of teaching has been in community colleges, her favorite type of educational environment.
