I have been teaching as an adjunct for Mendocino College since 2016. Most of my professional work is as a medical provider. For many years I practiced family medicine, though gradually I shifted my practice into psychiatry, and substance used disorders. I also serve as a Captain in the Army National Guard in a medical unit located in the Bay Area. Through the Army, I have had the opportunity to train overseas partners in Tactical Combat Casualty Care and respond to state disasters such as the Camp Fire near Chico and most recently to COVID 19 outbreaks in California. I am a first-generation college student and proud to say that I started my college experience at a community college in San Diego before transferring to the University of Redlands majoring in Anthropology, Sociology, and History. I graduated from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona California in 2011 with a Master’s in Physician Assistant (PA) studies with an emphasis in primary care. In 2016 I completed the UC Davis Primary Care Psychiatry Fellowship. In 2020 I completed a clinical Doctor of Medical Science through the University of Lynchburg in Virginia with an emphasis in psychiatry.
