Redbud plays high-energy dance music influenced by a range of styles: mostly rock, some blues, reggae, ska, surf, and even some punk and gospel. It's obvious when you hear Redbud that the band members have a lot of fun and enjoy writing, playing music, and singing together.
Redbud consists of Yoli Rose on rhythm guitar and vocals, Bob Dress on bass and vocals, Gary Pedroni on lead guitar and back-up vocals, and "Richard Phallus" on drums and vocals.
Redbud formed in late 2000 and recorded a CD two years ago titled "Smoke and Mirrors." In December 2003 they finished their second CD "Feels So Good." Redbud plays many local venues and also enjoys playing for parties and events.

Vance Troedel did these two tunes partly at home and partly in the Mendocino College Recording Studio.
In "Harpsametal," the piece that starts with the harpsichord ditty, he used many concert instruments including drum, cymbals, gongs, etc. You can also get a sense of his "metal" influences.
The "Pirate Song" was one of the most popular songs of the last semester. Vance is working on an improved version for this semester.
