Poems:

Slit Personality
by Carmen Price

Black-lined eyes, deep, dark…
Almost, could be, empty.
In her mind's eye she sees blood
Pour from her arms, legs, stomach…
"False sense of security,"
She grins at herself, her thoughts,
Her death wish.
The older and newer scars on her forearms
Are fading, becoming, fading.
She'd love to bleed again.
Big bad girl.

When the sun rises
And the trees go green again
She puts her smile on, puts her cute lil' hat on
And strolls off into the world.
Petals cover those bleed-again scars,
Hiding them from preying eyes.
Rainbows,
Cheeky smiles.
Little good girl
In her slit personality.
Lollipops and bloody fingers,
She waits silently
Til someone comes
And chooses who she's going to be.\

Girl, you can bleed crimson
Or you can bleed rainbows.
A slit personality
Of death wishes and candy.
