Alex Blomberg
"Betty's Mandala"
2004
Artist's comments:
I used a 1951 high school graduation photo and Photoshop to create this piece in honor of my mother's 70th birthday.

Janice Broadbent
"Leaf Girl"
2003
Artist's comments:
This is one of many images that I have created with Photoshop, which I later use as sketches for traditional paintings.

Sean Egloff
"The Snake of ‘89"
2003
Artist's comments:
"The Snake of ‘89" was created as a proof that you can’t believe everything you see on the internet. It was created using Photoshop 7.0 on a Macintosh.

Dale Glaser
2003
Artist's comments:
This is a photo I took at a book signing by veterinarian Katy Sommers. I like the intensity of the communication between her and the dog. I turned the picture a little more painterly with smart blur and dry brush filters in Photoshop.

Dale Glaser
"Peace"
2003
Artist's comments:
This is a collage of photos from three big peace marches that happened in San Francisco before the U.S. invasion of Iraq. I placed several images of children who were in those marches around the pregnant woman then desaturated all of the elements except her stomach in order to focus attention there. Why the children? Because peace is for our children.

Dale Glaser
"Shasta"
2003
Artist's comments:
I like the peacefullness and "sunniness" of this picture, a collage of three photos. I took the picture of my friend gazing at Mt. Shasta and changed the original sky to a cloud photo with a "hole" in it. I placed a portion of another cloud photo that actually had a rainbow in it into the cloud "hole." I used blur filters in Photoshop to guide the viewer's eye to the mountain and the rainbow.

Noel Hutchins
"Shark School"
2004
Artist's comments:
Created in Adobe Photoshop using various painting tools.

Elizabeth Jaramillo
"Black Rose"
2004
Artist's comments:
This piece is not only based on the Japanese "anime" style, but the costume that I depict is also inspired by the currently popular "Gothic Lolita" fashion trend in Japan. I began with a preliminary sketch of the figure which I scanned into and saved as a Photoshop file. The final design was rendered entirely by hand in Photoshop using multiple layers and filter effects.

Jaya Lee
"Leopard Girl"

Lisa Lunde
