*  Mission
Zephyr is dedicated to celebrating achievement in the arts and encouraging creative excellence by providing a showcase for the highest quality student and alumnae work in literary, recording, and visual arts.

*  Content
The Spring 2003 edition features works in literary and visual arts, and for the first time, recording arts in the form of MP3 files. Entries include original works in jazz, blues, and folk genres.

This year we are pleased to be able to invite you to listen to the MP3 files while you browse through the many visual and written works.

The literary arts section includes 10-minute plays and poems. A performance of the play Loudspeaker, written by Doug Hundley and directed by Ian Stigliani, was recorded for presentation as an MP3 file for this edition of Zephyr.

The visual arts section includes ceramics, sculpture, photography, computer graphics, drawing, painting, and textiles.

It is hoped that selected perfoming arts events will be included in future editions of Zephyr by using streaming video.

  • On Wednesday, May 7 at 7:00 PM in the Little Theater this year's featured poets and two playwrights will be reading their work, visual arts from the new issue will be projected on the big screen, and the first Zephyr radio play plus original music by selected Zephyr musicians will be aired.

  • The following Wednesday, May 14th at 7 pm, also in the Little Theater, five short student written plays published in this year's Zephyr will be performed by Reid Edelman's intermediate acting class.

Refreshments will be served. Both events are free and open to the public.
