software:
3DStudioMax, Bryce, and Photoshop
The elements
of the composition were made in 3DStudio and composed and rendered
in Bryce. The rendered image was worked slightly in Photoshop
and made ready for the Web in Image Ready.
I made this
image and the series to which it belongs because I was trying
to get as far as I could from the science-fiction eerie realism
that invests most 3D work. I wanted to paint abstract images that
used the digital 3D tools in a way far from the distinctive fingerprints
that programs like Bryce and 3DStudio leave. I wanted to see if
I could make a computer image that was pretty. Anyone familiar
with these programs would say that I was only partly successful;
the results are still readily recognizable.
