Helen Lefebvre, Usal Beach, Mendocino County, 67" x 29", 1994, Oil on canvas. "Usal Beach was a favorite camping spot. It was also my first large painting. I was very insecure when I began and appreciated the encouragement of my instructor. After I realized that the painting was succeeding in capturing the beauty of the scene, I really began enjoying the process. I, through paint and brush, could actually be there! In one painting I was able to combine all the aspects I appreciated."
