| An introduction to the branch of psychology that studies and treats mental |
| illness and psychological disorders. Areas of study include the diagnosis, |
| treatment, and the social, environmental, and biological factors involved |
| in psychopathology. Specific topics include: stress; anxiety disorders; |
| psychosomatic illness; personality disorders; substance abuse disorders; |
| sexual disorders; depression; bipolar illness; schizophrenia; eating |
| disorders; childhood disorders; treatment; prevention; and mental illness |
| in society. |

| Section 4733 is a video class. Mandatory orientation will be Saturday, |
| 1/26/08, 9 AM - 12 PM in the Center Theater, Ukiah campus. Additional |
| class meetings will be 3/01, 4/05, & 5/10, 1-4 PM in Room 730. Video |
