Course Description

An introduction to the branch of psychology that studies and treats mental
illness and psychological disorders. Areas of study include the diagnosis,
treatment, and the social, environmental, and biological factors involved
in psychopathology. Specific topics include: stress; anxiety disorders;
psychosomatic illness; personality disorders; substance abuse disorders;
sexual disorders; depression; bipolar illness; schizophrenia; eating
disorders; childhood disorders; treatment; prevention; and mental illness
in society.

Additional Information

Section 4688 is a video class. The initial class meeting will be held on
Saturday, 1/24, 10:30AM - 12:00PM in Room 730. Additional class meetings
will be 2/28, 4/4, & 5/9, 1-4PM in Room 730. Video programs may be viewed
at the College Learning Center at no charge or may be rented at
