| Course Description |

| This course will cover the topics of percents, US/Metric units of |
| measurement, Geometry, and the arithmetic of signed numbers, as well as |
| basic introductions to Statistics and Algebra. Students will: learn how to |
| convert between fractions, decimals and percents; explore formulas for |
| area and perimeter of geometric shapes; analyze statistical graphs and |
| measurements; and solve basic algebraic equations. Application problems |
| will be presented and solved in each of the main topic areas with an |
| emphasis that prepares students for Elementary Algebra. |

| Math Lab setting; TTh 9:30am-12:30pm in room 1270. Must attend 1-3 hours |
| per week, depending on course. Classes begin the first Tuesday of each |
| semester. |
