Course Description

An introduction to the branch of psychology that studies and treats mental
illness and psychological disorders. Areas of study include the diagnosis,
treatment, and the social, environmental, and biological factors involved
in psychopathology. Specific topics include: stress; anxiety disorders;
psychosomatic illness; personality disorders; substance abuse disorders;
sexual disorders; depression; bipolar illness; schizophrenia; eating
disorders; childhood disorders; treatment; prevention; and mental illness
in society.

Additional Information

Section 0644 is a video course. Mandatory orientation will be Saturday,
8/23, 9 AM - 12 PM in the Theater, Ukiah campus. Additional class meetings
will be 9/27, 11/1, & 12/6, 1-4 PM, Room 9110. Contact www.actmedia.org or
