| Course Description |

| The fundamentals of the history, philosophy, and practice of the ancient |
| Chinese therapeutic exercise of T'ai Chi will be introduced. Emphasis will |
| be on breathing, centering, relaxing and proper movement for balancing the |
| mind, body and spirit to reduce the effects of stress and improve health. |
| Martial applications will be introduced to permit better understanding of |
| the movements. |

| A T'ai Chi class that will address the needs and concerns of young and old |
| alike. Research conducted by the National Institute of Health has found |
| T'ai Chi to be the best form of exercise for all ages. Various T'ai Chi |
| principles will be emphasized as they apply to seniors' issues, such as |
| improved balance, posture and strengthening of particular muscle groups. |
| Practitioners have found that arthritis, back and knee problems and stress |
