Course Description

The fundamentals of the history, philosophy, and practice of the ancient
Chinese therapeutic exercise of T'ai Chi will be introduced. Emphasis will
be on breathing, centering, relaxing and proper movement for balancing the
mind, body and spirit to reduce the effects of stress and improve health.
Martial applications will be introduced to permit better understanding of
the movements.

Additional Information

A T'ai Chi class that will address the needs and concerns of young and old
alike. Research conducted by the National Institute of Health has found
T'ai Chi to be the best form of exercise for all ages. Various T'ai Chi
principles will be emphasized as they apply to seniors' issues, such as
improved balance, posture and strengthening of particular muscle groups.
Practitioners have found that arthritis, back and knee problems and stress
levels have improved with regular practice of T'ai Chi.PLEASE REFER TO PEG
