| Problems of philosophy as expressed through representative texts in the |
| history of philosophy. Problems are drawn from the theory of knowledge, |
| metaphysics, ethics and religion are emphasized. Development of skills of |
| critical reading, interpretation, evaluation and analysis of philosophical |
| texts. Includes both Western and non-Western traditions. |
