Course Description

A study of the recording studio design and environment. Emphasis on
console function, microphone selection and use, signal processing, and
multi-track recording. Students will experience hands-on recording
of studio sessions and concerts. Includes an emphasis on the development
of an appreciation for the integrity of both emotional and intellectual
responses to recordings completed of music from Western and non-Western
cultures. Course may not meet major requirements at transfer
