Liberal Arts major leads to the Associate in Arts degree and prepares the student for transfer to a four-year institution and completion of the baccalaureate degree. Students in this field may be prepared to pursue careers in any business, industry or professional field in which a general cultural awareness at entry-level would be appropriate.
The Liberal Arts major consists of: 1) A minimum of 18 units toward lower-division major requirements at a four-year institution, which may include up to 3 units of occupational work experience; and 2) 37-39 units of General Education breadth requirements.
This major is also appropriate for students planning to transfer to institutions outside the CSU or UC system. Students planning to transfer should plan their programs using the latest catalog of the institution of their choice and the assistance of a Mendocino College counselor.
