Mendocino College and its employees make every effort to serve its students and its community courteously and in compliance with College policies and procedures as well as State and Federal law. Complaints and concerns are first handled at the campus level, through campus complaint procedures.
Complaints involving the interpretation, application or alleged violation of College policies and procedures should be addressed through Administrative Procedure 534.1. At the initial level, complaints are addressed by meeting and conferring with the person with whom there is a complaint. If the complaint is not resolved at the initial level, it can be addressed with a Dean either in the Instruction Office (707-468-3002) or Counseling (707-468-3048). Complaints regarding unlawful discrimination are addressed by the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) officer. The EEO Officer for Mendocino College is the Director of Human Resources and can be reached at 707-468-3062. The Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC): If your complaint is associated with the institution’s compliance with academic program quality and accrediting standards, ACCJC can be contacted at http://accjc.org/complaint-process. ACCJC is the agency that accredits the academic programs of the California Community Colleges.
The California Community College Chancellor’s Office (CCCCO): Other complaints not resolved at the campus level may be addressed through the CCCCO, which can be reached at http://californiacommunitycolleges.cccco.edu/complaintsform.aspx.
