FINAL WEEKEND FOR MENDOCINO COLLEGE’S THE SEAGULL
The Mendocino College Theatre Arts Department production of Anton Chekhov’s exquisite masterpiece The Seagull runs for one more weekend only, through April 1 in the College’s Center Theatre.
According to production director Reid Edelman, “This is an absolute gem of a production. Chekhov once said that this play contains ‘five tons of love,’ and that feels true.” For this production, the audience is seated on the Center Theatre stage, surrounding the action of the play. This intimate seating arrangement brings the audience within inches of the action, a perfect setting for Chekhov’s actor-centered and psychologically nuanced drama. Remaining performances of The Seagull areThursday March 29 at 7:30 PM, Friday March 30 at 8 PM, Saturday March 31 at 8 PM and Sunday April 1 at 2 PM. Tickets ($15 general; $12 students and seniors) are available at the Mendocino Book Company, at the Mendocino College Bookstore, and online at www.ArtsMendocino.org. Tickets may also be purchased at the door. For more information, visit the college Theatre Department web site at www.mendocino.edu/theater/deptindex.html or call (707) 468-3172.
