Mendocino College to Hold 25th Annual Native American Motivation Day on May 20

On May 20 from 9 am to 2 pm, Mendocino College will hold on the Ukiah campus the 25th Annual Native American Motivation Day for 6th-12th grade students from Lake and Mendocino counties.  This year’s theme, “The Silver Lining of Higher Education,” highlights opportunities for students through college and the event will emphasize preparing for college and careers.  Jim Warne, a member of the Oglala Dakota (Sioux) tribe, former professional athlete and motivational speaker, will deliver the keynote at 11 am.  Workshops will include preparation for college, career choices and cultural events.  The public is invited to participate and help celebrate this important component of our community.
