2014 placement

  Fyne , King, Smith selected All Conference

The Mendocino College Eagles have concluded the 2014 season.  Three Eagles have been selected as All Conference performers. Sophomore Wide Reciever Reshawd Fyne finished the season 37 receptions  for 634 yards and 4 TD's Fyne finished as the conference leader in all purpose yardage. Fyne finished with over 1000 yards in total yardage.  Freshman defensive end Jamar King quickly bacame one of the top Defensive players in  the conference, King finished  his freshman season with 42 tackles and 16.5 tackles for loss in  five games this season. Brandon Smith lead the way for the Eagles defense this season  leading the team with 60 tackles, 8 tackles for loss 3.5 sacks  and 1 interception.  "We are excited to have these young men selected as all conference performers. These young men worked and prepared extremely  hard this season and they have  been rewarded for their efforts." Coach Espy.

The Mendocino College concluded its fall camp with on Saturday with an 86 play inter squad scrimmage. The day began with the Eagles hosting 300 area youth football players, and teams for a football clinic and jamboree run by the Mendocino players and Coaching Staff.  Sophomore Quarterback Jordan Primus had a great day running the 1st team offense,

He finished the day 7-10 passing with 144 Yards and a Touchdown.  Sophomore RB  JaKorian Graves had a great day finishing with 100 yards of total offense. The Defense on Saturday was lead with an INT for a touchdown by Sophomore CB Johnathan (Bam) Watson.  “I thought we had a good day defensively created 3 turnovers and two for touchdowns.” Espy said. “Offensively I thought we had an emphasis on the passing game. I was glad to see our starting quarterback manage the offense and create some explosive plays. Special Teams were sloppy and we have to correct the amount of penalties as a team.”



Mendocino College to open fall camp on Thursday August 13, 2014

Ukiah, California- The Mendocino College Eagles are beginning preparations for the 2014 football season. The Eagles are under the direction of first year Head Football Coach Frank Espy. Report day for the Eagles is August 13th. .Their fall camp will consist of 16 practices and 3 scrimmages to be held Monday- Saturday @ 3:30 PM at the Mendocino College Athletic Complex. All Practices are open to the Public.

The Eagles return 14 Letterman, 8 on offense, 5 on defense and 1 Specialist. “We are very excited to open camp and begin preparations for our September 6th match up against Reedley College. We are very optimistic about our team for this upcoming season.  We feel that we have a very talented group of guys, but we won’t know for sure how good we can possible be until be open our season on the 6th.”
