Growing up in Fortuna, CA, Kenzie has proven herself to be a tremendous athlete, serious student and overall positive contributor to her community. Throughout high school she has been successful in all of her sports: soccer, basketball, cross country and track. All four years she has been a member of the varsity soccer team, and in 10th through 12th grades she has led the team as their captain. For basketball, she was named Captain for grades 11th and 12th. She also brings soccer experience and knowledge from playing with Humbolt United U19 Girls, an elite club team out of Eureka.

The Mendocino College Women’s Soccer program is thrilled to add Phoebe Hendry to its 2013 roster. Phoebe was a standout at Ukiah High School. During her three years on the varsity team, she earned several accolades and was a huge contributor to the success of the UHS program. She received the highest honor Blanket Award both her junior and senior years, as well as captain’s award. Her junior year she was named First Team North Bay All-League, and her senior year Honorable Mention North Bay All-League.
In addition to playing at Ukiah High School, Phoebe brings a wealth of soccer knowledge and experience from playing two years for Sonoma County Alliance, an elite division-one club program out of Petaluma, California and one year playing at California State University Monterey, a division 2 college program. She has a true passion for soccer and plays any opportunity she gets.
Phoebe is also a very serious student. As a senior at Ukiah High School, she maintained a 3.2 GPA earning her a spot on the Principal’s Honor Roll. She’ll begin attending classes at Mendocino College and training in the weight room and on the field with the Lady Eagles this spring 2013 semester. We’re certain that Phoebe’s dedication to her education and to the game of soccer will elevate all levels of our Mendocino College Women’s Soccer program.
LETTER OF INTENT
Congratulations to Sophomore Limbet Mena! She has earned over a 17,500 scholarship to attend University of Maine at Fort Kent for the fall of 2013! She was recruited out of Williams, CA where she scored 99 goals during her 4-years of play at Williams High School and garnered many personal awards through her high school playing career! Limbet carried her success with her at Mendocino College where she earned first team All Bay Valley Conference player her freshman year (2011) as a right and left fullback. During her sophomore season (2012) she played left and right midfield and some outside back for us!
Limbet came to us unsure of her ability level and doubted if she was good enough to move on to play at the four-year level, but through her commitment and hard work training year-round with the Eagles Soccer Program, Limbet now believes she is capable of playing at the next level! Limbet is second all-time in games played (38) at Mendocino College, third all-time in games started (34), and third all-time in minutes played (2703). Limbet was a huge part of our team’s success during the 2012 season. The team won their first Bay Valley Conference Championship with an undefeated record of 11-0-1, lost in the second round of state play-offs and finished the year with a 16-2-3 overall record! The 2012 sophomore class is the coaching staff’s first to come through during their time at Mendocino College and they are VERY proud to have been able to work with Limbet the past two seasons and help her move on!
Limbet is the first young lady to officially sign from the 2012 sophomore class but she will not be the last to sign. We expect 3 to 5 more girls to sign letters of intent within the next month or two!
We look forward to sharing these fantastic stories with our Eagles supporters!

Upon being notified of this honor Coach Huff responded, “The coaching staff is very proud of our young ladies and we strongly believe our young ladies represent our women's team, athletic department, Mendocino College, and our wonderful community with tremendous pride and respect.”
Mendocino College Athletic Director Mike Mari had a similar reaction, “We are delighted with the news of our 2011 soccer teams honor. Mendocino College has also won this award in 2010 for Softball and in 2004 for Football and Volleyball. Having programs receive this type of recognition only reinforces the efforts our student-athletes, coaches, faculty, and staff have made to create a successful environment for our students to succeed.”
