Looking to transfer to a UC campus for Fall 2014?
Seven UC campuses usually offer guaranteed admission to California community college students who meet specific requirements. By participating in a Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) program, students receive early review of their academic records, early admissions notification, and specific guidance about major preparation and general education coursework.
The TAG application is accepted only between September 1-30, 2013 for any student looking to transfer to one of the seven UC campuses for Fall 2014. The application should be available to students by July 1, 2013. You are able to submit the TAG application between September 1 - 30. If you wish to transfer in Spring 2014, only UC Merced accepts TAG applications between May 1-31, 2013.
And, all seven campuses offer a variety of programs in support of transfer admission for community college students. More specific programs and support services are available to help transfer students earn their UC degrees once they have enrolled.
The seven campuses which usually offer TAGs are: UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Merced, UC Riverside, UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara, UC Santa Cruz
Priority Consideration: The University gives junior-level community college students first priority over other transfer applicants, including those from four-year institutions and UC's own intercampus transfer students.
How to begin:
1. Set up an appointment with Candie Dickinson, our transfer counselor, to discuss to which UC campus you would like to transfer in order to discuss what requirements need to be completed to enter.
2. Fill out an online TAG application when it becomes available. Once completed, it is recommended to make a follow-up appointment with Candie to review the application. Then you will send it in to the UC campus for approval during their submission period.
3. When your TAG is approved, fulfill all remaining coursework and GPA requirements in your TAG agreement.
4. Complete the UC admission applications to the UC of your choice and submit it during the appropriate filing period (November 1 -30: go to www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/how-to-apply/apply-online/index.html).
