Conversation: A Ceramics Exchange
The College of the Redwoods Art Gallery presents a collaborative exhibition on two campuses, Conversation: A Ceramics Exchange between the CR and Mendocino College Art Departments. The exhibition will feature a juried selection of ceramic-based art by the students at both colleges, and will be held at CR before traveling to the Mendocino College in Ukiah this coming February. Works ranging from traditional wheel-thrown vessels to innovative, wall-based installations will be on display at the CR Art Gallery from November 10th through December 9th, and then at the Mendocino College Gallery from February 3rd through the 24th.
The exhibition is intended to open up new channels of dialogue between students studying ceramics at the two colleges, and presents both the students and their communities with a unique glimpse into the different styles and perspectives being worked out in clay. Conversation: A Ceramics Exchange is comprised of works by CR students Rebecca Degagne, Keith Fleury, Linda Gardner, Janiel Giraldo, Stephanie Hinkley, Shannon Klein, John Klemm, Pam Lane, Lisa Pitchitino, Brianna Schetter, Tiffany Torgersen, Amanda Workman; and Mendocino College students Charles Alexander, Satoko Barashi, Etsuko Bingelman, Mimi Booth, Devee Chase, Peggy Dart, David Gordon, Denise Hueners, Gerald Irwin, Linda Irwin, Doug Kell, Jaya Lee, Erika Makino, Frank Noyd, Kat Payne, Jim Persky, Charity Romero, David Rose, Steve Smith, and Ron Woolsey.
