Mendocino College Foster and Kin Care Education Program, in collaboration with First 5 Mendocino and Redwood Empire Association for the Education of Young Children (REAEYC) will be presenting a program titled Uniting Families Through Positive Parenting.  

Uniting Families will introduce the participant to the concept of positive parenting and preventing challenging behavior. This workshop is for parents and family members of young children, and can provide participants with some common language as well as compatible approaches between home and school.  Come join our program as we learn how to create more unity in our families; meets January 30, from 6:30-9:30pm in the Little Theatre on the Ukiah campus of Mendocino College.  Pre-registration is required, please call 707-468-3168.
Linda Brault will be the speaker for the evening, speaking on the topics of young children with challenging behavior, inclusion of young children, legal requirements in early intervention/early childhood special education, and transition between early intervention and special education.  Linda is the parent of children with special needs and has published several articles and a book.  

Linda will also be presenting a full day workshop for teachers of young children on Saturday, January 31st, 2009 at the Ukiah High School.  Please contact Penny Walker at 468-3029 for more information.
