Mendocino College students Jason Briseno and Zechariah Endow are the hosts of a new radio program on KMEC.  The Tuesday 1:00 – 5:00 PM time slot will feature the “Midterm Session” with interviews and covering news from Mendocino College about classes, programs, activities, sports, and performances, along with an eclectic mix of fun music.

Zechariah Endow is currently a full -time student at Mendocino College with a double major in Business and Psychology. Mr. Endow hopes to one day become a successful business owner and be independently wealthy.  He is particularly interested in sustainable business practices.

Jason Briseno is currently attending Mendocino College where he is in the process of acquiring dual Associate’s Degrees in Theater Arts and Business Management.
Jason describes his background; “I’ve been attending Mendocino College for three years now and worked my way up from the Ukiah Unified school district, and am planning to transfer to UC Irvine or Long Beach State University. I’m currently serving as President of the Dance Club and Treasurer of the Theater club for this fall semester. For the past two years I’ve also been involved with the ASMC student senate as Publicity Director and Student Ambassador where I have learned so much about organizing and coordinating tasks with fellow students and co-workers.”

Jason conveys his excitement regarding KMEC; “This is a great opportunity to help promote tons of college activities ranging from sports to theatrical productions, which you just might see me in! My hope for this semester and for the radio show is to educate and raise awareness for students and community members alike.  So tune into 105.1!”

Business Instructor Steve Hixenbaugh, faculty sponsor for this project, says, “This is an excellent opportunity for Mendocino College students to learn about radio broadcasting and promotion of non-profit organizations.  I am very excited to be working with these talented, energetic young people and look forward to the continued development of our collaboration with KMEC and the Mendocino Environmental Center.  We are currently broadcasting all of the home football games from Mendocino College and hope to expand to other sports as well. Additionally, we are looking into the possibility of doing some live remote broadcasts from the Mendocino College campus during the Tuesday afternoon time slot. This is a really enjoyable project, as it has been a pleasure to work with Dennis O’Brien, Jenny Shakman, Greg Lindsley, and Sid Cooperider from KMEC.”

Meridith Randall, Vice-President of Education and Student Services at Mendocino College also expressed her support of the radio show, “We are so pleased to be working with KMEC and thank them for helping us disseminate important information about the college to the District.” UKIAH, CA – # # # #
