What is "Assistive Technology"?
“Assistive Technology” is a generic term that refers to any technological adjustment to accommodate a disability or difference. In the academic setting, assistive technology most often refers to software programs, such as JAWS, Kurzweil, or Dragon, that help disabled students access learning materials. Assistive Technology creates a level playing field so that disabled students can succeed in their coursework, and achieve their academic goals.
