Free Adoption Workshop in Ukiah November 6
UKIAH, CA – Mendocino College’s Foster and Kinship Care Education Program is presenting a free Fall Adoption Workshop on November 6, 5:30pm ~ 8:30pm, at the Ukiah Valley Conference Center, Chenin Blanc Room, 200 S. School St. Ukiah.
November is National Adoption Awareness Month and the public is invited to celebrate and learn how some families are made.
This workshop is for those interested in adoption or those currently in the adoption process. The topics presented will be: Concurrent Planning, (how does it work, the effect on parents, children and the foster parents); Adoption Services, (how adoption works through the Calif. Dept. of Social Services, steps in the adoption process); Post Adoption Services, (what services you may receive after the adoption is final, and AAP (What is it? How do I get it?).
Brian McGuire, the supervisor of California Dept. of Social Services Adoptions, and a panel of adoption specialists that work in our area, will present this workshop.
