What are Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)?

Student Learning Outcomes are measureable and verifiable knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or attitudes that students have at the completion of a course, program or service.

SLOs are recognized as an integral component of modern education at the course, program and institutional level and are a requirement for institutional accreditation. As a “learner-centered institution” Mendocino College is committed to ensuring that students successfully achieve learning outcomes. Mendocino College assesses and revisits SLOs at all levels on a regular basis, and uses SLO assessment results as a key part of its institutional decision-making process.
