UPDATES

December 2010 - The Raku Roof structure is complete, including the fire sprinklers. Future projects include renovation of vacated and relocated spaces in the East campus complex. the Vocational Technical building, and the Ag. Headhouse.

September 2010 - The Raku Roof structure is complete, with the fire sprinklers scheduled for installtion during the winter break. Future projects include renovation of vacated and relocated spaces in the East campus complex, the Vocational Technical building, and the Ag. Headhouse.

December 2009 - The Raku Roof, located next to the ceramics lab, is complete, with the fire sprinklers scheduled for installation when DSA plan check approval has been received. Work necessary to comply with ADA requirements is nearing completion. Future projects include renovation of vacated and relocated spaces in the East campus complex, the Vocational Technical building, and the Ag. Headhouse.

June 2008 - Planning for the upgrade of vocational programs has begun in conjunction with the updating of the District's Educational Master Plan. Meaux Architecture Group has been retained for the planning of a roof addition over the raku yard of the Ceramics program, which will allow for all weather utilization of this space.

February 2008 - Project bid specifications are being developed for the Ceramics "Raku" roof project since it has been determined that this project will have to go to formal bid.

December 2007 - A conceptual plan for the Raku roof has been created.  Research is being done to locate a suitable contractor to finalize plans for the structure.

August 2007 - This project should be split to create a sub-project for the Raku Roof. May need to reconfigure space to include AG Headhouse and Voc/Tech Buildings. This project should be part of the Master Plan Phase II.
