717200: Student Center Cafeteria

(renovate former Library Bldg.)

 

Scope of Project: To relocate some existing modular building operations (cafeteria, bookstore, AMS, etc.) to renovated Lowery Library and new Library/Learning Resource Center.

Budget: $3,927,848

Target Completion Date: July 2013

Point Persons: Mike Adams, Director of Facilities Planning, and Meridith Randall, VP of Education and Student Services

UPDATES

December 2013 - The Lowery Student Center is complete. Main building signage has been completed and all interior and exterior furnishings for the Student Center, Student Cafe and multi-use area have been installed.

March 2013 - The Lowery Student Center is scheduled for completion in July 2013. The framing is complete, with electrical, HVAC, and plumbing roughed in.

June 2012 - This project was bid and awarded. Construction will begin on August 1 with completion scheduled for June 2013.

December 2011 - The working drawings are complete and the plans have been reviewed and approved by the Department of the State Architect (DSA). Bidding will take place in late Spring 2012 with construction commencing as soon as the bulding is vacated upon completion of the new Library/Learning Center building.

December 2010 - Working drawings are complete and have been submitted to the State Architect's office. The project will include the renovation of this building to house food services, the student center, ASMC office, and the bookstore. Additional upgrades and remodel of other areas within the Lowery Library Building include flooring and ADA compliance issues which will be addressed as part of those projects.

September 2010 - Schematic phase planning for the renovation of the existing Library and Learning Center spaces in the Lowery Library Building is complete. The project is in the final stages of planning, with submittal to the State Architect's office scheduled for December 2010. The project will include the renovation of this building to house food services, the student center, ASMC offices, and the bookstore. Additional upgrades and remodel of other areas within the Lowery Library Building will be considered as part of this planning process.

December 2009 - Schematic phase planning for the renovation of the existing Library and Learning Center spaces in the Lowery Library Building has begun. Initial meetings to establish the scope of the project and determine the stakeholders who will participate in the planning process have taken place. The project will include the renovation of this building to house food services, the student center, ASMC offices, and bookstore. Additional upgrades and remodel of other areas within the Lowery Library Building will be considered as a part of this planning process.

July 2009 - Project preliminary planning is scheduled to begin in August 2009.

June 2008 - Schematic phase planning for the renovation of the existing Library and Learning Center spaces in the Lowery Library building has begun. August 2007 - This project could be folded in with the Library/Learning Resource Center Project.
