UPDATES
April 2008: Since the December IIS Kick-Off Celebration, the project is fully engaged. In Computing Services, is an impressive DELL rack filled with blade servers and SAN (storage area network). The servers host the Datatel Colleague software which includes Web, Portal, Document Imaging, and Reporting/Data Warehouse applications. As of the end of February, the new training facilitiy has hosted Finance, CORE, and HR training. All of these modules will serve as the foundation for the Student module which includes Curriculum, Student Services, and Financial Aid.
December 2007: The equipment for the new computer system is currently being installed. The Implementation Kick-Off Meeting was held on 12/6/07.
October 2007: The IIS training building installation, as well as the power and data line installation, is complete. The paving of the surrounding area has been finished to allow ease of access to students and staff.
September 2007: Hardware procurement is in process (servers, rack, SAN). Temporary building for IIS Training has been delivered to site and is located next to the Sonoma State Building. Work will begin to install power and data lines, and to complete additional paving around new location to allow ease of accessability.
August 2007: Additional work for site prep, utility connections and pathways will be done by other contractors for IIS Training Center. Contract language is being finalized and should be completed by 9/07/07. Approval of a temporary (approx. three years) building for IIS training and swing space needs during LLRC construction, to be located by Sonoma State University building.
