Dr. Moore Appointed Dean of Student Services
UKIAH, CA — After a comprehensive search by a ten-member selection committee, Dr. Donald Moore was selected as Dean of Student Services at Mendocino College, effective July 17, 2006.
"We are extremely fortunate to have Dr. Moore on staff at the college. He has an extensive background in student affairs, including improving accessibility, and his experience at UC Davis will assist us in increasing the number of students transferring to four-year colleges,” said Meridith Randall, Vice President of Education and Student Services.
Prior to joining Mendocino College, Dr. Moore worked at UC Davis where he was involved for many years in student judicial affairs, outreach, orientation and conflict mediation. At the same time, he earned his Ph.D. in social anthropology. He also served as a lecturer, teaching assistant and instructor during his time there.
Dr. Moore has a master’s degree in Social Anthropology and a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from UC Davis.
In addition to his educational activities, Dr. Moore has served on a number community and business boards, including the City of Davis Planning Commission, Cal Aggie Alumni Assoc., African Diaspora Connections, Inc., Community Housing Opportunity Corp., Sacramento Camellia Symphony, UC Davis African and African American Alumni Association, and the Vision Rites of Passage Curriculum, a statewide advisory committee developing curriculum for at risk youth.
