What are the requirements for taking Math online?
Mendocino College offers online mathematics instruction using specialized math software through Course Compass (not ETUDES.)
To take classes online you will need an ACCESS CODE. The access code comes with a new book purchased at the Mendocino College Bookstore, or you can simply purchase an access code from the bookstore (and the book will be available online in PDF format.) IF YOU PURCHASE THE BOOK USED OR ELSEWHERE and it does not come with an access code, you will need to purchase an access code from the bookstore or online.
Further, you will need a COURSE ID. The Course ID can be found in the online orientation, which is linked below.
Technical requirements:
- Operating System
- Windows 2000, XP, or Vista
- NOTE: Mac OS X will be supported starting Fall 2008 for some courses; more details to follow.
- Internet connection
- Minimum of 56 kbps (Kilobits per second)
- Browser
- Microsoft Internet Explorer, Version 6.0 (or above); Version 7.0 (for Vista operating system)
- NOTE: Firefox and Safari will be supported for some courses starting Fall 2008; more details to follow.
