  For Students > Adelante Program

The Adelante Program serves youth with migrant farmworker backgrounds by providing classes and enrichment activities on the Mendocino College campus. The students range in age from entering 9th-graders to high school seniors; they come from schools in Ukiah and Willits. This year is the 7th year that the program has been associated with Mendocino College. Classes offered this summer include college-level guidance, computer literacy, and physical education courses as well as Adelante classes in English, math, and world cultures. The goal of the program, which is funded by Migrant Education, is to introduce students to a college environment in order to stimulate them to succeed in high school and continue on to post-secondary education.
