Foundation Scholarships for 2006-2007
Mendocino College Foundation Scholarship
4 @ $1,500 to be awarded $750 each semester
• Enrollment for six or more units at Mendocino College for each of the semesters, Fall '06 and Spring '07,
• GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Two letters of recommendation. One must be from faculty.
For 2006-07 only – one of these Scholarships will be: “Awarded in Honor of Thomas P. Day
Evelyn R. Foote Scholarship
28 @ $1500 to be awarded $750 each semester
• Enrollment for 6 or more units at Mendocino College for each of the semesters, Fall ‘06 and Spring '07,
• GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Two letters of recommendation. One must be from faculty.
Thomas M. Evans Sr. Scholarship
One @ $2,500 to be awarded $1,250 each semester
• Enrollment at Mendocino College in the fall of ‘06 and spring '07 for 12 or more units
• 3.5 GPA
• Two letters of recommendation. One must be from faculty.
George R. Szanik Scholarship
One @ $2,500 to be awarded at $1,250 each semester
• Enrollment at Mendocino College in the fall of ‘06 and spring '07 for 12 or more units
• 3.5 GPA
• Two letters of recommendation. One must be from faculty.
Jim Meyer Scholarship
One @ $2,000 to be awarded $1,000 each semester
• Enrollment at Mendocino College in the fall of ‘06 and spring ‘07 for 12 or more units
• A cumulative grade point average of 3.5
• Two letters of recommendation. One must be from faculty.
Carl J. Ehmann Scholarship
One @ $2,000 @ $1,000 each semester
• Sophomore Standing
• Enrollment at Mendocino College in the fall of ‘06 and spring '07 for 12 or more units
• 3.5 GPA
• Two letters of recommendation. One must be from faculty.
Chosen by others (Not chosen by the Foundation Scholarship Committee):
Awards of Promise
4 @ $1,000, Recipients chosen by faculty in four disciplines
• A student must have successfully completed a minimum of 12 semester units at Mendocino College
• Enroll at Mendocino College for the fall ‘06 semester
• Have completed or will have completed two courses in the field of nomination
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25
• Be recommended by a faculty member and receive affirmation by the Academic Senate
Mary Oosting Scholarship
1 @ $1,000 - Recipient to be chosen by art faculty
• Criteria developed by donor
• Enroll at Mendocino College for the fall '06 semester
Karen L. Atkinson Nursing Scholarship
2 @ #1,250 – Recipient to be chosen by nursing faculty
• Criteria developed by donor – sophomore standing
• Enroll at Mendocino College for fall ‘06
Yvonne Sligh Book Award (Awarded Each Semester through the President's Office)
16 @ $125 = $2,000 8 @ $125 each semester =$1,000 each Semester (to be added to College Staff donations which will determine the total amount to be awarded)
Voucher to be awarded to qualifying students upon the recommendation of faculty for specific class textbook.
• Faculty determine the need.
• Qualifying student must not be recipient of financial aid, BOG waivers or other scholarships.
• Voucher can be used at Mendocino College Bookstore only for specific class textbook up to $100.
