Mendocino College is striving to increase our alumni membership.

If any of you are alumni of Mendocino College (Certificate or AA/AS), please contact the office of the Dean of Students. We hope you will be interested in becoming a member of our alumni group.

The one-time membership fee is $15.00. Your alumni membership dues will benefit the College by providing funds for student scholarships, book loans and other college needs.

Bylaws
2003/04

 

Article I. Name/Purpose

The name of the Association shall be the Mendocino College Alumni Association. It’s purpose is to provide college information and activities to the certificate and AA/AS degree recipients of Mendocino College and to provide financial and other assistance to the College.

 

Article II. Membership

Membership shall be open to all Certificate and AA/AS degree recipients of Mendocino College who pay the required membership dues. Associate memberships may be established as provided by the Alumni Board.

 

Article III. Board and Officers

The Association shall be governed by a Board consisting of the following members:

  • ExOfficio: Dean of Students, Director of Public Information and Marketing, Athletic Director, ASMC Representative, and Faculty Representative.
  • Appointed: 3-10 current Alumni members, hopefully representing a variety of classes and majors, selected by the Board for two-year terms from alumni expressing an interest in serving.

 

The Board shall be ultimately responsible for all activities of the Association.

 

Officers shall be elected from the Board and consist of the following:

  • President — shall be chief executive officer of the Association and shall preside over the Board. He shall call meetings of the Board, develop agendas, appoint members to any necessary committees with approval of the Board, represent the Board to the public, and other duties which are appropriate.
  • Vice President — shall assist the President with all duties, serve in his absence, and coordinate all committees.
  • Treasurer — shall be responsible for collecting, budgeting and accounting for all Association funds.
  • Secretary — shall keep minutes of Board meetings, handle correspondence, keep a current list of members, and other duties as assigned.

 

Article IV. Meetings

The Board shall meet at least once a semester to conduct Association business. Meetings may be called by the President or by a majority of the Board. Robert’s Rules of Order shall be used to conduct business and a majority vote of those present is sufficient to pass all items of business. A quorum will consist of 50% of filled positions.

 

Article V. Finances

All Association money shall be kept in campus accounts

 

Article VI. Amendments

Amendments to this Constitution require a two-thirds vote of the Board.
