Mendocino College Repertory Dance Company
The Mendocino College Repertory Dance Company is a diverse group of dancers who share an interest in dance as performing art. The company, which formed in 1986, produces at least one concert each year, featuring choreographic works by students, faculty members and guest choreographers. Although the company maintains a primarily Modern Dance reoertoire, performances frequently include dance theatre, jazz dance and ballet.
Company membership is by audition and varies in numbers from 18 - 30. The company will extend itself to apprentice members, individuals who are not quite ready to participate as full company members, but who will be "in training" for future company membership.
The Company is also know for its special children's performances, A Symphony of Movement, which usually occurs every other year.
I see the dance being used as a means of communication between soul and soul; to express what is too deep, too fine for words.
