This course will provide an overview of the theory and practice of
American elections and election outcomes. It will focus on electoral
structures and institutions; changes in process and outcomes over time;
political culture, socialization and opinion holding; and the determinants
of vote choice. Major current elections and voting trends are also
discussed.
