Within the framework offered by modern geologic principles, the history of
a changing, dynamic Earth unfolds as told by the rocks and minerals that
make up the Earth's outer layer. This laboratory course gives students
a chance for hands-on study of the key geologic principles. Topics
include rock and mineral sample identification, geologic and
topographic map analysis, and field investigations.
