This course is an introduction to information technology and data
communications. Students will develop the necessary skills to enter this
field by building a computer, installing the operating system, adding
peripherals, connecting the computer to a local area network, and to the
Internet. This is a hands-on, lab-oriented course that stresses laboratory
safety and working effectively in a group environment.
