Course Description

Basics of using a web page production software product.   Learn how quick and easy it is to create and modify a web site using off-the-shelf products.

  • Practical examples of basic elements to design a web page.
  • An exercise-oriented approach that allows learning by doing including uploading to a host site.

 

Lab and Materials

  • Students will be using electronic tutorial files in the classroom.
  • Optional USB flash/memory card (for transferring files between home and computer lab)
  • If using your own computer: Microsoft Windows, MS Office.

Students will be assigned a folder on the College lab server.   All work assignments are required to be placed in the student's folder and are subject to verification for completeness.

 

Grading

A = 100-90% B = 80-89% C = 70-79% D = 60-69% F = 59% and below

For CR/NC: Credit: 70% and above No Credit: 69% and below

 

The following will contribute the following percentage toward the grade:

·        Attendance, class work & participation      100%

Credit for exceptional work and effort can be added; correspondingly, credit can be deducted for lack of effort, participation, or low quality of work.  The grade may be somewhat subjective - that is, subject to the instructors' perception of your efforts and quality of work. 

 

Posting and Proofing Grades

Grades may be posted on my web site. 

 

Drop Policy

I do NOT automatically drop students who cease to attend. If you will not be completing the course, you are responsible for dropping the class by phone or filling out the paperwork and submitting it to Admissions & Records yourself.

 

Attendance Policy

Your attendance and participation are expected and desired. Classes will always include discussion periods along with lecture and hands on activities.  A sharing of your opinions and questions are essential to the class and to your own education.

 

Cell phones, pagers or audio headsets are not to be used in class.  Turn cell phones off.
