Summer 2012 BUS 50 Mathematical Applications in Business (3 units)
Section 8100 Class Begins June 18, 2012
Course Description
The application of basic mathematical and algebraic skills to the business environment. Business applications include pricing, payroll, accounting, simple interest, compound interest, annuities, investments, statistics, and the Metric System.
Prerequisite: Recommended completion of Math 11.

- Estimated Time Per Week: Students can expect to spend approximately 6 to 8 hours per week reading, writing, and taking quizzes.
- Special Requirements: E-mail the instructor after you sign up for class. Log into ETUDES the first day of class.
- Assignments & Tests: Students will complete weekly chapter assignments and will be given an exam after every fourth chapter that is completed.
- Additional Comments: The entire course will be conducted online via the ETUDES program. Students are required to have Internet access, an active e-mail account; the ability to use word processing, conduct internet searches, attach files, send e-mails, and work independently.

Here is a flash tutorial (Flash presentation opens in a new window) that demonstrates the log in protocol. Be sure to check System Requirements before getting started with Etudes. You need to do this on each computer you use while taking a class through Etudes.
